Everyone, It's easy to get upset when corresponding by email. You can't see someone's face to gauge reactions to your comments, you can't use tone of voice to interpret. I've seen situations where everyone meant well blow up because of misinterpretations. In the Mythical Man Month, Fred Brooks observes that throughout his career at IBM it was true, statistically, that every code change had about a fifty percent chance of introducing a new bug. It's just the nature of our business. So, please, be patient with others when they make a mistake, even if it seems obvious to you. We all have different levels of knowledge of the software and of our craft, and we all make mistakes, even on our best days. (See, now someone can misinterpret this and believe I've just called everyone a screw up. Email is perilous!) I did report the problem with preferences not opening when I was running under Eclipse. What Dimitry did fixed that problem, but I didn't know the system well enough to see that it broke something else. If nothing else, though, we now know more about it, so it will be easier to implement the correct fix. Ray Dimitry Polivaev wrote: >> What went wrong? >> > Preferences Dialog could not be opened.
