I am convinced that > most people are careful not to use beta versions for productive use; > they better should be. my two cents: 1. Rectangle marked selection is the most important feature of the release for me. I would be very happy if you could accept it, particularly because it came with the already published Beta 12. This topic is about using it as default, not about any new implementation steps. 2. For me fixing bugs generally has higher priority than implementing of the new features. But if I do not know about any significant bugs, I just do not understand how the feature stop could help to force the release. Could you explain it to me? 3. Dan, what do you think, how long does it take for the Release to be produced, provided I implement no new features? The point is that if we separate the bug fix branch from the new feature branch, development of the new features is likely to stick: First, some of bug fixes require refactoring, and changing interfaces could impede new development on another branches. Second, the versions with new features and known not fixed bugs can not be published because of the bugs. Feature stop practically means no new features until the Release, but we currently do not have any estimations about when it comes. What do you think about the possible release date? 4. And the last: we have got some patches. Shouldn't we integrate them? Best regards, Dimitry |
