Hello Dan, hello everybody I have found one bug in the tab handling. The bug should be fixed before producing the next version, and Chris is the best person for doing it because the exception arises from its new code. He has already got from me a mail with a problem report. But generally I think that beta versions should be published at least monthly, if there are some improvements in FreeMind. And we could define a release procedure, if we need once. For example a kind of smoke test could be defined, so that the person producing the release can make sure that basic functionality of the release is available. The reason of fixing of the smoke test procedure is that we minimize the testing efforts, share responsibility for the release quality and provide a necessary minimum of stability. The list of necessary tests could be managed in the FreeMind wiki making its change and maintaining easier. If there is no need of such testing, we could write it on this page too. But if we had some mind map which is large enough and has many different elements, just opening this map, copying its content to some other map and comparing the differences could be enough. What do you think? Dimitry |
