Hello Chris, your changes are nice, but as long as the final logotype is not clear, I > don't want to invest > much time in making the splash screens nicer. The appeal of the logotype including the splash screen is crucial to the acceptance of the splash screen by the users. If you do not want to change the splash yourself, I can do it myself and send you the code, so you will have very little work with it. What do you think of that? Moreover, as both splash > screens are drawn in the same > way, the improvements on the splash don't have to do with the question > of what logotype to take. I think the progress bar of the new splash should better be as high quality as the splash itself. And as I will send you the code, you will have to invest close to nothing. The translation issue can be realized although I like the "translate me" > string more, as many people ask: > how to translate. With the '*', we don't get questions, but comments > that our application mixes the > native language with english. Any comments of the others? If the string is customizable with "[translate me]" as default, everyone can decide as he sees fit at least. I can imagine that at the time of release some translations will be incomplete. As a user of such a translation, I would prefer it to the English one, with the strings that are not translated appearing in English. But English strings with "translate me" attached make using even almost complete translation rather inconvenient. Does that solve your problem? My proposal would be to put both freemind-document.ico to the web site, > so that everybody can > view them and to release the (recompiled) beta as it is. What does it cost you to add the freemind-document.icon to the beta? That is very little work. What harm does it do? Best regards, Dan |
