Erroneous folding symbol created

Java version 1.7.0_21-b11
With "enable leaves folding" selected in preferences and focus on a no-child single node, pressing the space bar causes a folding symbol to be erroneously created for a no-child node. When "enable leaves folding" is deselected, no new erroneous folding symbols are introduced, however, any existing erroneous folding symbols still persist on the no-child nodes.
The folding symbol should never get added if the node has no children, even if the space bar is pressed. This was the behavior through 0.9, but it seems to have changed in 1.0.0 RC2 and RC3, (I am not sure about RC1).
Thank you for Freemind.
