Bug #1406354 is not really solved.
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1406354&group_id=43225&atid=435578
Attached is a save game & log file that causes this
problem. Simply hit "enter" to advance the turn. It
takes about 5 mins to advance the turn. I am running
linux 2.4.31 w. Java 1.5.0_04, on a 700 Mhz P3 w/ 304
MB real memory. Am running with the -Xmx256M flag as
suggested.

One more thing, and I think this is significant. This save
game is right after declaring independence. I never had the
problem before then.

I have no problem to advance the turn. I have 720 MB, although 460 are used when I start
the game, and freecol don't use more than 120MB. It takes less than 30 seconds (but it's
a sempron 2800+, this may be the difference)
Errors from log file are the same errors of the bug #1586817

Thanks for looking into it. Even 30 seconds is bit long,
but acceptable.

I can also confirm this problem, a game that is only 20-30 turns old and the bug randomly happens. Doing a few things with the interface frees up the system at times, trying to force a reconnect freezes the interface. I will try to attach both the save and the log, the only truly suspicious line that keeps appearing is:
net.sf.freecol.common.networking.Connection$1 run

I couldn't find a way to attach additional files to this thread, so I have upload the zip with the two files to here:

Great work so far, very entertaining game!

Michael, submit a new bug report and attach the files there. I think your bug is not the same, although the symptom is similar

I think this bug has been fixed. Can you please try to reproduce the bug? :-)
