I put this only in my fork, because I was warned that the idea might arouse strong opinions in opposition. https://github.com/Paul-Licameli/audacity/commit/701f25ac1cb9259f00606c5f10a2afbc010f5560 The drop-down track menu is now much shorter, several menu item names are shortened, and many of the accelerator keys are changed to be more mnemonic. The Move commands are in a cascading sub-menu common to all kinds of tracks. For wave tracks, the commands relating to the channels are in another cascading sub-menu. Furthermore, that menu is called "Channel" for mono tracks, and shows only relevant commands for such tracks; and "Channels" for stereo tracks, showing only the other commands relevant to them. The other project of reducing the number of view types (and adding more scales, and making Pitch more useful) does not require the rest of this. PRL |
