It's fixed now. I just committed the IS_ALPHA change.

I think that's a way bad idea during a release process. And probably 
unnecessary, generally, so a misuse of our resources. I have absolutely 
no affiliation in the version control wars, but I don't think we've ever 
had problems with SVN before, and this was resolved in a few days. 
Certainly that's a long time when we're in release process, but I think 
it deserves at least one more fail before we give up on it, and expend 
effort to change version control system again.
