If you do want to split and then rejoin the audio from the video, you'll need some video software to do that. The reason is because Audacity doesn't edit video, only audio. So you can use Audacity with ffmpeg<http://lame1.buanzo.com.ar/> to import the audio from the video, you can export as a wav file<http://audacity.sourceforge.net/manual-1.2/fileformats.html>, but then you will need to use another program to combine it back with the video.
