I gave Richard's r11248 a quick try: http://code.google.com/p/audacity/source/detail?r=11248 I had one immediate reservation, in that sometimes users will want to export tracks that are part of a mix for use in other software. Some of these tracks may intentionally not have audio starting at time zero. So if we now make Mix and Render only render from the start of the audio, this will prevent using it as a workaround for the case where users need to retain the offset at the start of the track. Is there some way of still letting users do that? An extra Mix and Render command? Also there is a repeatable crash when rendering a panned mono track (but not when exporting it). Rendering a panned stereo track seems OK. 1 Launch Audacity 2 Generate > Tone (any should do) 3 Move the L....R pan slider away from centre 4 Tracks > Mix and Render I see the crash on both Win 7 x64 and Ubuntu 10.10. Builds before 11248 are OK. Thanks Gale |
