It says they do at > http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Nightly_Builds. Actually, quite true. The occasional ANSI Win Nightly does reflect SVN, as (I think) the Mac Nightly does. Otherwise I do sometimes use the Unicode Win Nightly to test as yet uncommitted things, then take them out if it no longer serves a purpose. Otherwise, virtually no user feedback is possible. Special builds for specific tests of uncomitted code could be done, but that could get confusing and space-consuming itself. I don't think the Wiki Nightly Build implies these alphas are "releases" though (or it shouldn't imply that). "Release" on the Wiki page refers to the type of build (i.e not debug, though there is a weekly Mac debug build). On the download pages on SF we say: "Nightly Builds" are Alpha builds from our latest development code that we work on between releases. Will review those and possibly add some bugzilla entries. Like many issues, if they seem to be actively in progress at the time with a suggested timescale to work on them, they may de facto not get added (especially if enabling of the feature isn't committed).
