Hi, I just committed a change which makes the generic file dialog work on Linux. Before, an error occurred while trying to compile generic/FileDialog.cpp and one had to install the libgtk2.0-dev package (or similar) to compile Audacity. This brings up the question whether, regardless of the fixed generic dialog, we should explicitely force the user to install libgtk-dev (not just libwxgtk-dev). Previously, the user was forced (the configure script wouldn't tell him but the compilation error would force him) to install libgtk. Personally, I like the generic dialog, but users may be disappointed when Linux distros build their packages without support for the native dialog. Also, if GTK is not available, Leland's label track crash fix will not be compiled in. Markus |
