Hello Everybody! I'm new to the mailing list, but I've been a long time audacity user, I've recently come to want to have the feature to split my audio output per track, say if I have a 4 audio track, and a soundcard (like an M-audio Delta 1010) that supports multiple outputs, take each track and send it to a different output. As far as I know nobody is already working on this, so I figure if I want it that badly, I need to do it myself. Now, I don't know that much about programming in C++ (up to this point in my life I've mostly written shell scripts), but I've wanted to learn the language for awhile, and I figure implementing this feature (or trying to?) would be as good a method to learn it as any. But I figured I should ask first to see if people here think it's a plausible project for me to take on and whether or not the resulting patch would be something likely to be accepted by the project. Because otherwise I should probably just migrate to software that supports what I would like to do. (I think ardour does, although it's not cross platform, which is one of the reasons why I begun using audacity in the first place). -Fred |
