Hi Vaughan That sounds useful, but hard to do. I was responsible for the 'remove all the content except the line "NewPrefsInitialized=1"' idea, I think, since the 1.2 prefs were getting read from the registry otherwise. A button would be useful but... Where would you put the button? Would it clear the registry only if 1.2 wasn't currently installed? Would you be able to clear all the various places where the prefs were copied into effects etc? That seems unlikely. Possibly the cleanest thing would be to restart Audacity? (I've no idea how you do that.) And clearing the prefs with a button for 1.3 but leaving the prefs in the registry for 1.2 may be easier, and a better idea? For people who want to keep 1.2 intact? Maybe (and only maybe) do this on install of a later than 1.2 version? It surely is a complicated issue.
