It does actually fit fine on my Windows XP system, standard font size and DPI, 1024x768, about 80 px to spare either side. I was going to suggest "\n" in the translated strings, which works in the "info" box in Theme Preferences, but doesn't seem to work for example in the Interface Preferences strings for each checkbox. Looks like the main problem with the width is the text in the Mouse preferences?
