I've been working for a couple of days trying to get Audacity to compile with a default "configure" but have run into a problem that I just can't seem to track down, and I hope someone with wxWidgets experience can help. (Since this will be my first time using wxWidgets). Everything seems to compile fine, but in the final linking of the audacity executable, I get of bunch of undefined references for wx, mostly for the wxString and wxStringBase classes. The link command has: -pthread -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8 -lwx_gtk2u_aui-2.8 -lwx_gtk2u_xrc-2.8 -lwx_gtk2u_qa-2.8 -lwx_gtk2u_html-2.8 -lwx_gtk2u_adv-2.8 -lwx_gtk2u_core-2.8 -lwx_baseu_xml-2.8 -lwx_baseu_net-2.8 -lwx_baseu-2.8 Which it picks up from wx-config, and it can find the libs, and the libs do contain the methods which the linker says it can't find. I get a number of "warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'wxChar*' " but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I thought it might have been a mangling issue, so I compiled and installed wxGTK-2.8.8 from the source. Still have the problem. I'm using gcc version 4.2.3 (4.2.3-6mnb1) Any help is appreciated. (I want to stop fighting the build chain start coding new features!) Thanks, Pat |
