I appreciate that you're making baby steps at learning how software actually works, and we've been trying to help you, but this is a -devel list, so we should be expected to know our tools, and basic concepts and terms. Each IDE is different. Learn the IDE you're using from their documentation. Just because I didn't have a pointer to learning the basics of debugging with MSVC doesn't mean one doesn't exist, or that we should write it for Microsoft. But really, you need some basic computer science concepts, like the difference between compile and link, what the heck a call stack is, etc. These are not appropriate to document on the already-crowded Audacity wiki (or imo, to waste bandwidth on the -devel list), and are documented *many* other places already. I think Stanford and MIT have online courses, so take a 101 online. Write a "hello world" from scratch, and learn to debug it. - Vaughan |
