Hi all, this discussion has been really interesting. I've programmed something related both to text and audio processing, but separately. I'm also not familiar with Nyquist programming. Still, I came up with some ideas for generating the amplitude data. Idea A: There is a relatively fresh plugin for creating lables at regular intervals. I wonder if the labels could be placed by timecodes from external textfile AND store the amplitude information from the audio signal as the label text? The label track could then be exported to text file. This amplitude data could be added to the score follower text file with spreadsheet program. Idea B: audacity stores the peak level information of the audio tracks into the project file (.aup). The audio is stored as small pieces. It is possible to retrieve the peak amplitude information from the project file by using an external (not Audacity related) tool. Well, why not LISP/Nyquist? Idea C: Variation of idea B: not using Audacity at all. Everything would be done with a dedicated tool - reading the audio + score follower file and writing the new score follower file. I am definitely interested in projects like this, but unfortunately my time is too limited for creating programs. However, I thought my ideas could help finding the right way.
