They would have to navigate through the tracks and spin-boxes on the Selection bar to work out what had happened. As I mentioned in a previous post, I think that the model used by photoshop has some advantages. If no tracks and/or time range is selected, then an effect is applied to all tracks and/or all time, but the selection on the interface is not affected. With this scheme: - it's easy to apply effects to all the audio, which is often what a user wants to so. - the user doesn't have to unselect everything after applying an effect - a user of a screen reader doesn't have to remember that everything has been silently selected.
