Hi! First I'd like to thank for the fixing of the z-problem in the text track. With this, I wanted to extend my personal modifications for audacity, but there I found the next heavy problem (at least for me), which stalls my work. In german, we have special characters, called "Umlaute" (similar to those in french and some other languages). I cam type them in the text track without any problems. After saving and reloading the project, they are replaced with two single chars. Ok, I thought, that's definitly a unicode problem - let's try the unicode version of audacity. Said and done, it worked, the Umlaute were saved and reloaded correctly - even it was said, the unicode build would only affect the linux platform. But I can't playback sound with it. Recording works, but not playback. The reason is - as far as I can see - that the audio decices in the preferences dialog are truncated after the first char (Only "A" and "M", which should be "Microsoft Soundmapper - Input/Output" and "Aureon Wave"). Seems to be another unicode problem, this time the other way round. It would be great if someone could give me a hint where to start to correct this and in which of both versions best...
