Hello heroes May I suggest an improved GUI for setting up the range of the timetrack. A slider with step settings and a preset system. A graphical indication of an automation point I touch is a good thing to have in all automatable parameters btw. Recordable automation wouldn't be so bad either, even if it's just via a slider, operated by a mouse. Don't forget to interpolate between values and offer automation thinning to keep a lid on the processing. The next step would be listening and learning MIDI controllers. I've got a parameter that I'd like to control, so I hit a button or something and the program listens for a midi controller from a predefined midi port. One confirmation later I'm mixing with a real fader. Game controllers have analog stuff too and everyone has them. They're dirt cheap too. Autmoation recording modes are what makes life easy for the user. If you can, read up on Harrison consoles. They're regarded as doing it the best way and they're a good long term target to aim for. Basic modes are: Write (overwrite with current fader state) Touch (delta change with current fader) Latch (delta change and keep writing after fader is released) Read (no recording of automation) Oh dear, that's a lot. Well, keep up the exellent work. Tony |
