Fraid I have to report a data loss bug with the current CVS audacity. Im using Slackware Linux 10.0 with audacity code got from CVS on 6/7/04 (this tuesday). I was overdubbing a track on top of 2 other tracks. Deleted the 3rd track and then tried to play back - the first section of the 2nd track was playing the sound of the deleted track. Closing the project and re-openning without saving revealed that the first part of the 2nd track had disappeared, as if it had been overwritten by the 3rd track, which was now deleted. Looks to me like a conflict between .au filenames within the project directory. It mustve chosen filenames for the 3rd track that were already in use by the 2nd. Repeating the same actions with the same project caused the same things to happen again, but no other projects seemed to be affected. Sorry I didnt keep the faulty project. Cheers Tim |
