I can already do this in multiple windows by just opening up files/projects seperately and I can put them anywhere I want to (usually on their own desktop, a concept that doesn't really exist in Windows, thus the multidoc interface). And when I'm using audacity, I already use the whole screen anyway. Plug follows for the innovation I'd love to see and will enventually implement if no on else does: I don't really need to move stuff about more than I already do, I need to be able to see more on the screen at once (without making it smaller, and thus harder to edit). The biggest UI change I'd like to see is to be able to optionally collapse stereo/multiphonic tracks into a single track display since 90% of the work I do with Audacity is nonlinear blend editing with envelopes, and the envelopes are nearly always identical across L/R (or however many channels there are). When I have 50 'tracks' that are all part of a single nonlinear edit, I can currently only see four at a time by default and half that information is redundant. Monty |
