It would require small tweaks, nothing major. The holdup is more on the PortAudio end (which is me, as the pa_linux_alsa author). pa_linux_alsa works pretty well; I think the biggest holdup is getting it to be smart about period size and number of periods configuration. Pretty much every ALSA app out there leaves the user to specify these, but I guess I just hope to do better. Maybe a good temporary measure would be to allow the user to specify these with an environment variable. I'm kind of busy these days, but this (and JACK support) is something I'd really like to see. Some weekend I need to just go on a coding binge. :) Josh |
