Bugs item #1143865, was opened at 2005-02-18 16:44 Message generated for change (Settings changed) made by arianne_rpg You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=101111&aid=1143865&group_id=1111 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 9 Submitted By: Miguel Angel Blanch Lardin (arianne_rpg) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Stendhal: Get new GFX Initial Comment: We need new GFX, mainly because we won't want to work with chunks of sprites like a SNES anymore. I suggest creating a real tile set using RPGMaker2000 As it is the fastest and simplest way. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Miguel Angel Blanch Lardin (arianne_rpg) Date: 2005-02-20 12:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=3949 I would prefer Zelda like style. I have seen some tiles that match the style of Zelda's new game. Choose any of them and just that, build complete title by joining the basic 16x16 tiles. For example: tree, house, ... Don't worry for coding. I will do it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Propheteus (propheteus) Date: 2005-02-19 22:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1222866 Well that shouldn't be a problem at all, I'm an old rm2k hound, and thats what i did. I was always hacking and slashing the tilesets and everything into other things. While I agree with you that you shouldn't use the basic tile sets, i.e. the ones that are anything below 50pixels by 50. However I've come to realize that having building blocks is a very good thing, just make the building blocks alittle bigger. Are you going for the top down zelda/ff6 look or for an iso fft look? Tell me what you need and I can probably find it and modify it for ya. although I'm no coder yet so don't spect me to put them anywhere other than a zip or tarball ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Miguel Angel Blanch Lardin (arianne_rpg) Date: 2005-02-19 11:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=3949 Yes, more or less. We need each sprite ( you know RPGMaker2000 tilesets? ) in a single file. For example tree: All the pieces that makes a tree in a single image, without grass, just the tree. We don't build the map as in RPGMaker but using a text file that describes what is in that position, a tree, a house, ... So it is ideal that everything is in its own image file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Propheteus (propheteus) Date: 2005-02-19 07:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1222866 What exactly do you mean? Do you mean you're putting Stendhal together 32x32 pixel tile at a time, multiple grass tiles, with say trees on top? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=101111&aid=1143865&group_id=1111 |
