Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program originally created for children ages 3 to 12, but enjoyed by all! You're presented with a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to help them be creative. Along with paintbrush, shapes and text, Tux Paint includes a "stamp" feature to add pre-drawn or photographic imagery to pictures, and a set of "magic tools" that provide filter effects (like blur, tint and waves) and interesting drawing tools (like train tracks, bubbles and grass). SDCC is a retargettable, optimizing standard C (ANSI C89 / ISO C90, ISO C99, ISO C11 / C17, ISO C23) compiler that targets a growing list of architectures: STM8, MCS-51, DS390, HC08, S08, Z80, Z180, R800, Rabbit, SM83, eZ80 in Z80 mode, Z80N, TLCS-90, Padauk PDK14 and PDK15 microprocessors. Xschem is a schematic capture program, it allows to create a hierarchical representation of circuits with a top down approach . By focusing on interconnections, hierarchy and properties a complex system (IC) can be described in terms of simpler building blocks. A VHDL, Verilog or Spice netlist can be generated from the drawn schematic, allowing the simulation of the circuit. Key feature of the program is its drawing engine written in C and using directly the Xlib drawing primitives; this gives top speed performance, even on very big circuits. I have succesfully managed to simulate complete VLSI projects with this tool, both digital (Verilog / VHDL) and analog (Spice). Schematics can be printed in SVG, PNG, PDF, formats. EtherDFS is an 'installable filesystem' TSR for DOS. It maps a drive from a remote computer (typically Linux-based) to a local drive letter, using raw ethernet frames to communicate. For years, I was using LapLink to transfer files between my various "retro" computers. It works, yes, but it's also annoyingly slow and requires constant attention. One day I thought, "Wouldn't it be amazing if all my PCs could share a common network drive, similarly to how NFS operates in the *nix world?". This day EtherDFS was born. I clearly didn't invent anything - the concept has been around almost as long as the first IBM PC, and several commercial products addressed that need in the past. I am not aware, however, of any free and open-source solution.

mpv is a free (as in freedom) media player for the command line. It supports a wide variety of media file formats, audio and video codecs, and subtitle types. Powerful scripting capabilities can make the player do almost anything. There is a large selection of user scripts on the wiki. While mpv strives for minimalism and provides no real GUI, it has a small controller on top of the video for basic control. mpv has an OpenGL, Vulkan, and D3D11 based video output that is capable of many features loved by videophiles, such as video scaling with popular high quality algorithms, color management, frame timing, interpolation, HDR, and more. mpv can leverage most hardware decoding APIs on all platforms. Hardware decoding can be enabled at runtime on demand. A straightforward C API was designed from the ground up to make mpv usable as a library and facilitate easy integration into other applications. mpv is under active development, focusing on code refactoring and cleanups.
