This week we’re featuring two of my favorite projects, Scribus and Armagetron, as well as several other very cool projects. And, although I’m sure you’re very aware of this, remember that these projects are all Open Source, and are eager for you to get involved, with your comments, feature requests, and code patches.

  • Armagetron Advanced

    Another version of the simple action game modeled after the lightcycle sequence of the movie Tron.

  • DriverBackup!

    Fast and user-friendly free tool for drivers’s backup, restoration and removal with command line options, automatic restoration from CD\DVD and path formatting. DriverBackup! includes also an interactive command line builder.

  • avidemux

    Edit your avi, mpeg and nuv. Process audio and video. Cut.

  • megaglest

    MegaGlest is a fork of the now defunct rts, glest. This fork improves game content and adds a particular focus on network play.

  • java YouTube video Downloader (ytd2)

  • avidemux

  • Scribus

    Scribus is an open-source program that brings professional page layout to Linux/Unix, MacOS X, OS/2 and Windows. Scribus supports professional features, such as CMYK color, spot color, separations, ICC color and robust commercial grade PDF.

  • pseint

    PSeInt is a pseudo-code interpreter for spanish-speaking programming students. Its main purpose is to be a tool for learning and understanding the basic concepts about programming and applying them with an easy understanding spanish pseudocode.

  • FreeMat

    Freemat is an interpreted, matrix-oriented development environment for engineering and scientific applications, similar to the commercial package MATLAB. Freemat provides visualization, image manipulation, and plotting as well as parallel programming.
