Dear Roland, thanks, this was a very helpful hint. In Tools/Customize-> Keyboard cmd-x was associated with TexMaths, although in TexMaths prefs cmd-t was selected, see screen shots. I deleted that entry, now I'm back to normal operation. thanks again, Wolfgang
