"Quick questions get answered instead of sitting in Slack" Posted 2026-07-26
Pros: I can pop into someone's room for a two minute question instead of typing it out and waiting for a reply hours later. It's brought back that quick back and forth you'd normally get by just walking over to a desk.
Cons: The mobile version feels a bit limited next to the desktop app, so I mostly end up using it only when I'm at my laptop.
Overall: Our support team kept losing time waiting on Slack replies for small clarifications. With Spot, we hop into a quick room chat instead, and most of those small questions get sorted in minutes rather than sitting unanswered for half a day.

"Made our async team feel present without extra meetings" Posted 2026-07-26
Pros: Dropping into a themed room to work alongside teammates, even silently, has replaced the awkward "just checking in" messages we used to send. It feels less like monitoring and more like actually being near people while getting work done.
Cons: Notifications for room activity can get noisy if you're in multiple spaces throughout the day, and I've had to manually mute a few rooms to avoid constant pings during focus time.
Overall: Our design and engineering teams rarely crossed paths outside of formal meetings, which meant small feedback loops took days over Slack threads. Spot gave us shared rooms where quick design reviews happen in passing, cutting down on the back and forth we used to have over async messages.
