OnBoard Board Management Software

Pros: It allows for us to build board books that can be edited all the way up to the board meeting date, it allows for our board to vote on resolutions all the way up to the meeting date, and it allows for seamless integration into virtual meetings that are required now.

Cons: Filing system isn't as easy to use as Box or other file management systems. Also, sharing files with large groups is cost prohibitive.

Overall: Overall for a small nonprofit that is member led by an active board, it is the best product on the market.

Pros: OnBoard gave Eureka College many more tools to help our board get organized and hold more effective and efficient meetings. It also gave us a central location to keep track of board terms, contact information and a wealth of resources, This allows our board members to stay engaged between meetings.

Cons: Many of the new tools that have been added to the product since we began using it are separate price points. It would be great if everything could be available to all customers but at least they are there when purchase becomes an option for us.

Overall: One of the selling points for us is the ongoing customer support. The OnBoard team, from customer service to product design, go out of their way to make certain the software works as needed and desired.

Pros: Centralized portal for all Board activities. This has simplified the process of putting Board packets together, distributed, and filed. It is easily accessed from any device without any limitations to the user's experience. It has significantly helped in the administration of our Board activities. The support is excellent; never have any issues getting assistance when needed.

Cons: The product development and additional features just keep coming and coming. Sometimes it hard to keep up with all of them. You have to sort through what is really needed, what adds value, and what are just nice to haves. Would like to see the zoom integration be able to use more than one person user's account. It would be helpful to have a checklist when completing functions; there are times I have forgotten to add groups/users to the communication and then didn't realize it wasn't being seen.

Overall: It has reduced the effort that was required in our environment to manage our Board communications and activities. I can't ever imagine going back to the old methods of creating PDFs, putting them in secured files, managing Board responses and alike. Everything is in one place and extremely easy to navigate and access.

Pros: Ease of use.
Look of high tech.
Quick adaptability for our board members.

Economical.

Cons: Takes a bit to get the Zoom integration to work properly for all users.

Overall: Our organization has transitioned to the OnBoard Platform this year, managing our 15-member board of trustees. Communication is so easily achieved with OnBoard taking your announcements and meeting schedules and sending automatic meeting notifications to the board. As Assistant to the President, my job in preparing for board meetings has been streamlined with the use of OnBoard as it will take all of your documents which are downloded and create a Meeting Book for you automatically. What I love most is the click-on feature when in the Open Book format which enables you to click on any document within the table of contents automatically without scrolling through all the pages. We have already experienced a difference in how we prepare for our meetings; we feel like we’ve entered the high tech world finally without any hassle! Thank you OnBoard!

Pros: This platform is easy to use, very intuitive and makes things more streamlined for our board meetings. The service provided is amazing. Set up was clear, the board training was very helpful and they are always available to answer questions.

Cons: I haven't found any cons to this platform. It makes my job easier.

Overall: This platform makes my job easier. Preparing for the meeting, facilitating the meeting, messaging, signing documents has saved me so much time.

Pros: OnBoard is very easy to use and utilize for our board meetings. Even those who are not tech-savvy can still utilize the product. We save a ton of time and paper using it for our board meetings and have excellent buy-in from our board members.

Cons: I have had no hiccups with OnBoard and can't think of a "con" for the product at all.

Overall: OnBoard has a great support team and is so helpful to eliminate paper waste and help facilitate online meetings. I am so glad we have this in place when COVID-19 hit; we have been able to do our governance business easily and quickly with the software.

Pros: I like how easy Onboard is to access and use for the board members. You have easy access to bylaws and policies and whatever else we need to resource.

Cons: The ability to print a specific page has changed and could be easier.

Overall: We have been very happy with how OnBoard has worked to have the monthly books and other data at our fingertips.

Pros: It's so easy to put together and to amend board packets, and the board loves the easy access. I easily save several hours each month, at least.

Cons: In the beginning it was a bit buggy, but in the last 6 months it's been smooth sailing. The Zoom interface is new, and not perfect yet.

Overall: I used to spend hours putting together board packets, saving each doc as a pdf and then arranging them into one pdf document, that I emailed around. The document was sometimes big enough that board members' servers rejected it. And then, if something changed just before the meeting, I had to distribute more documents. Now, I can get the packet up but keep adding to or fixing it - and it takes me a quarter of the time. And Board members find it easier to access (even the stodgier ones).

Pros: Ease of use and simplicity is its strongest feature. I manage 10 boards and committees within our organization and OnBoard has improved consistency and communication across all our entities. The implementation and training of new users is seamless; people of all demographics adapted to the software and way of meetings very quickly.

It is also great to be able to update agendas or meeting materials in real time and the voting feature allows us to be productive in-between meetings.

Cons: I would like to be able to track meeting attendance over a certain time frame and not meeting-by-meeting, but that is a small issue and not applicable to everyone.

Overall: My overall experience with OnBoard has been great - 10 out of 10! I am always impressed by OnBoards frequent feature upgrades and monthly webinars. They really listen to their client's needs!

Pros: The interface is very intuitive and user-friendly. Agenda creation is a breeze. Once you have it, you can start using it without much training.

Cons: While is not complicated, group creation and security role for seeing portions of the meeting (for example, the executive session) can be easier.

Overall: Have been using OnBoard for more than 6 months and so far, so good. Really easy to implement and use. Implementation team was really helpful.

Pros: We utilize OnBoard with our Board of Directors quite frequently, and we love it. OnBoard is super easy to use. Not only is it easy for us to use, but it was easy for us to teach our board how to use. We are able to place board minutes, travel information, bylaws & policies, and also communicate with each other through messenger.

Cons: I truly tried to think of things that I could write for this section, and give constructive criticism or feedback, and I can't think of anything. We have not encountered any issues with this software at all.

Overall: Our overall experience with OnBoard has been wonderful. We very quickly had to become acquainted with OnBoard as we were trying to use it for one of our board meetings that was coming up quickly after buying this software. It was so easy to learn, as well as teach others, and has been a great software for us to use.

Pros: It is very simple to organize an agenda and meeting materials for a board meeting, even easier to make updates to materials if needed.

Cons: Having to download documents before being able to print.

Overall: Love the product! Easy to use for the administrator and users, had no problems teaching our board members how to use the app.

Pros: OnBoard has been proving itself to be extremely beneficial to our board members. Just the difference from going from paper board packets to full-on digital has saved an enormous amount of time to prepare for board meetings. Having a section for the calendar, any resources, and even a messenger has brought so much flexibility and comfort to our board members

Cons: There's not much to not like. At times the iOS app can be a little wonky with not accepting a board member's password. This seems to have been mostly resolved.

Overall: OnBoard has become an essential tool in the way our board members collaborate and meet. Without it we would be in the stone age in terms of technology use. I highly recommend it for any organization seeking to find an easy way to hold and manage board meetings

Pros: Very intuitive and user friendly. Extremely helpful, patient, professional staff always quick to help and answer questions. Very reasonably priced for the support and features.

Cons: It would be great if there could be a text notification feature.

Overall: Very positive experience! We are looking forward to transitioning the majority of our board and committee communication and planning to the system.

Pros: Ease of use: the portal is so easy to use.
Customer Support: The customer support is great -from our initial rep to the help desk folks, all have been so helpful.
Features: the features in the portal allow us to do all we need.

Cons: There are a few features that I would like to see added: surveys that can be signed with esignature, documents signed with esignature that allow for write in text; moving of files from one area to another.

Overall: This product is much more user friendly than our previous portal. The customer support has been great.

Pros: I like how all the books are easy to organize and distribute, how we can use it for Actions without meetings, any documents that need an electronic signature, staff meetings, and as a document library.

Cons: Can't think of much. It is always improving. It seems to dislike Powerpoints so I have to convert them to PDF before uploading. I wish it would allow you to send an email reminder when Actions are awaiting votes.

Overall: Great! I don't know what I would do without it. It has also been helpful for remote meetings due to covid.

Pros: Its seamless and personalized feature to maintain the large database as per existing folder and file management directly on cloud. User can share, Create and authorize other user to use the specific folder or file. Data safety is utmost important.

Cons: Account need to create on one hub. Other account holder however can access. Bit long step as compared to other service providers.

Overall: Online document sharing and collaboration is very useful. at a time, user can access the file from anywhere and edit the same. Setup is ready within no time and user friendly. Virtual data rooms also can be created with document watermarking.

Pros: We have been very excited to explore the features of OnBoard over the past year. Being able to move from printing multiple copies of 150 - 200 page agenda books has saved us not only time but a significant amount of money in printing fees. The pros of OnBoard include being able to make last minute agenda changes, addition of supporting documents and updates to the meeting within minutes. This keeps the most up-to-date agenda and information in front of the board at all times making our meetings more efficient and well organized. The solution is easy to navigate with an intuitive dashboard, handy calendar and a Resources function that has become one of our most utilized features.

Cons: It would be a plus if you could add more personalization to the landing pages of OnBoard. There's really no place to make it look personalized as such. It would also be nice to be able to choose a particular font or font sizes, etc. for the "Announcements" pages.
Sometimes the Help Center can be overwhelming. There's so much information in the Help section that it can sometimes be difficult to narrow down a search to the specific topic you're looking for.

Overall: We have been using OnBoard for over a year now and it's been a relatively painless process to integrate our years of "paper" board meetings into an online solution. We find the application to be user friendly - both for admins and the end-users...our very busy board of trustees. Saving them time and making our meetings more efficient has been one of the best outcomes from using OnBoard. The resources feature keeps all of the materials handy plus we've been able to migrate all of the information for orientation of new board members to OnBoard as well. This saves time and money putting all of the information together in one place. Overall, OnBoard has been a tremendous asset to our board and to the processes that support our board.

Pros: OnBoard allows me to keep my board informed and all board members on the same page. It is easy to use and has a very small learning curve.

Cons: At first, I felt certain features were complicated to use but with the constant updates it has become very easy to use.

Overall: Very easy to use. Saves money from the previous method of sending board packets to nine board members.

Pros: It makes my job easier by utilizing all of the features it provides to prepare my quarterly meetings successfully.

Cons: The Survey feature can be upgraded somewhat. It does not give you more options when doing a poll as to where it can automatic chose the best option for you.

Overall: I am satisfied with what I am working with at this time. It makes my quarterly meetings preparations less stressful, knowing that it will generate my book at ease.
