Pros: Automated configuration backups and restore capabilities.
Real-time change tracking and audit trails.
Compliance management for network security standards.
Multi-vendor device support (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
Bulk configuration deployment and scripting features that save significant operational time.
Centralized management that improves visibility and reduces human error.

Cons: The user interface feels somewhat dated compared to modern DevOps tools.
Initial setup and device onboarding can be time-consuming.
Some advanced customization features have a learning curve.
Performance may slow down in very large environments with thousands of devices.
Reporting customization could be more flexible.

Overall: As a DevOps Engineer, ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager (NCM) has been a valuable tool for automating network configuration management across our infrastructure. It significantly reduces manual effort by automating configuration backups, tracking changes, enforcing compliance policies, and simplifying bulk configuration deployments across network devices. "Reliable device insight and backups"

    Posted 2026-06-17

Pros: It is a no-brainer to import/integrate network devices, and the at-a-glance NCM UI is easy to navigate.

Cons: When viewing a specific device in NCM there are times when I would like to SSH into the device directly from the device UI. Currently, there is not, and you need to navigate into an entirely separate menu (Tools) to do this.

Overall: Overall, ManageEngine's Network Configuration Manager is a tool we use daily. It has proven to be reliable, and accurate, and is especially helpful to get quick statuses on backups, and firmware vulnerabilities

    "Reliable Network Monitoring "

    Posted 2026-06-17

Pros: OpManager assisting our environment of 1000+ network devices smoothly, and day-to-day management is convenient — the interface and workflows make it simple to keep tabs on device health and performance without a steep learning curve. It's become a core part of our daily operations, and we rely on it for several hours every day. Management and Alert customizations are easy and its more useful for us on day-to-day monitoring.

Cons: The main limitation we've run into is customization for managing devices like Access Points under a Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) MIB. The options for fine-tuning how APs are monitored and managed within the WLC hierarchy feel restrictive compared to the flexibility we'd like for wireless infrastructure specificall

Overall: For monitoring a large mixed environment of network devices, OpManager is dependable and easy to manage day to day, which is why it's in active use for 3+ hours daily on our end. That said, ManageEngine could improve the product by adding more granular

    "OpManager Observation Review"

    Posted 2026-06-15

Pros: What I liked most about ManageEngine OpManager is that it provides all the capabilities required to monitor the complete IT infrastructure from a single platform. With multiple add-on modules such as NCM, NetFlow Analyzer, Firewall Analyzer, and others, we can centrally manage and monitor the entire infrastructure, improving visibility and operational efficiency.

Cons: While ManageEngine OpManager offers a wide range of monitoring capabilities, troubleshooting critical issues can sometimes take longer than expected and often requires support intervention. Additionally, after upgrades, occasional false alerts and alarm auto-clear issues can impact monitoring efficiency. Faster resolution for critical support cases and further improvements in stability would enhance the overall experience.

Overall: I have been using this application for a long time, and overall, it is one of the best and most reliable monitoring solutions I have worked with. It is user-friendly, easy to manage, and provides comprehensive visibility into the entire IT infrastructure. The centralized monitoring capabilities and multiple add-on modules make day-to-day operations more efficient and effective.

"Reliable Configuration & Compliance Management with Some Usability & Reporting Trade-Offs"

    Posted 2026-02-24

Pros: ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager (NCM) is a strong tool for automating network device configuration management, offering scheduled backups, change tracking, and quick rollback capabilities that help reduce configuration errors and improve uptime. It provides compliance auditing against standards like PCI-DSS and ISO, real-time change alerts, and detailed configuration comparison views that make it easy to see what changed and why. Users also appreciate its role-based access controls, workflow approvals, and integration with ticketing systems, which strengthen governance and operational control across multi-vendor environments.

Cons: Some users find the initial setup and policy creation tedious, especially in very large or diverse networks, and the user interface can feel complex or dated compared with more modern tools. Reporting and dashboards are functional but less flexible than those in some competing systems, and deep analytics beyond basic configuration trends are limited. Larger environments with frequent changes can also generate a high volume of alerts that need tuning to avoid noise.

Overall: ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is a solid, cost-effective choice for organizations that need systematic configuration backup, compliance auditing, and change tracking across network devices, but it may feel less intuitive or polished than premium configuration management solutions, particularly when it comes to advanced reporting and user experience.

"Reliable and Efficient Network Configuration & Compliance Management Solution"

    Posted 2026-02-23

Pros: ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager offers centralized configuration management for routers, switches, and firewalls with automated backups, real-time change detection, and quick rollback options to reduce downtime. It supports multi-vendor devices, enables bulk configuration changes through automation, and provides compliance auditing with detailed reports for security and regulatory standards. Overall, it improves network reliability, security, and administrative efficiency.

Cons: ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager has a few drawbacks, such as a slightly complex initial setup, especially for large multi-vendor environments. The user interface can feel technical for beginners, and advanced automation features may require additional configuration knowledge. In very large networks, performance may require proper server sizing. Additionally, some advanced compliance and enterprise features are available only in higher editions, which can increase licensing costs.

Overall: Overall, ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is a robust and reliable solution for managing network device configurations with strong backup, change tracking, compliance, and automation capabilities. It helps reduce downtime, improve security, and maintain configuration consistency across multi-vendor environments. While the setup and advanced features may require technical expertise, it delivers significant value for organizations looking to streamline and secure their network infrastructure.
