Configuration rollback — Allows administrators to restore previous configurations when changes cause problems. Centralized management — Provides a single platform for managing configurations across multiple network devices. Useful reporting — Offers reports and visibility that can help with troubleshooting, auditing, and compliance. You will be able to patch your network devices, you can run different regulatory checks and compliance checks on your running configurations, and you can stay alerted to any minor or major known or unknown configuration changes on your network equipment. on top of that, it will enable you to take backups of your configurations and version comparisons configurations. Bulk Config Changes (Configures): Pushing a global change—like updating TACACS/RADIUS passwords, SNMP strings, or NTP server IPs across 200 switches—can be done simultaneously using template scripts (Configures) instead of manually SSH into every box. Its very use full to have the clear information that what it's happening on the network and the Switch what load that is there on time to time we have great information that help us to know what is going on the network. As a Network Security Engineer, I use ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager to maintain secure and consistent configurations across our firewalls, routers, and switches. It has helped us reduce the risk of unauthorized configuration changes and improved the visibility of our network environment. One of the features I value most is configuration change auditing. It allows us to quickly identify when a device configuration has been modified and compare different versions to verify that only approved changes were made. This has made security investigations and troubleshooting much more efficient. Cons Steep learning curve — New users may need time to understand the platform and configure it effectively. Interface can feel complex — The large number of features and settings can make navigation less intuitive for beginners. Initial setup requires effort — Deploying the solution and configuring devices, credentials, and automation workflows can take time. Resource requirements — Larger environments may require careful planning of server resources and database configuration. Advanced features may require additional configuration — Getting the most out of automation, compliance, and workflow capabilities can require technical expertise. Pricing can become significant — Costs may increase as the number of managed devices and required capabilities grows. Some customization can be complicated — Organizations with highly specific network-management requirements may need additional configuration or scripting. The only con of having this tool is it will make your network engineer's life easy. You will not get a chance to tell them that you are not doing your work properly or according to regulatory requirements. Alert Noise: Out of the box, syslog and change notifications can flood your inbox. You have to spend time fine-tuning alert filters so you aren't spammed every time an automated system script runs on a router. Database & Performance Overhead in Very Large Environments: If you are backing up thousands of devices frequently, the local database (especially if using bundled PostgreSQL) can grow massive quickly, causing occasional dashboard sluggishness unless properly tuned on dedicated hardware. I don't have any Cons as of now. one thing the price of the application is bit high. The initial setup takes some time, and the reporting interface could be more intuitive, especially when creating custom compliance reports. Better visualization of security trends would also make the platform even more useful.		Pros from Real Users Pros Love the simplicity and customization of the product, its very easy to get devices monitored and to modify nearly anything. Being able to mass modify interfaces really saves time and the notifications are now business critical at my facility. The support is second to none if you run into issues, the BGP monitoring and integrated IPAM/Syslog really set TotalView a cut above their competitors. Installation is quick and easy. Configuration is very straight forward and easy. Gives you a "TotalView" of your network and equipment. Can be up and running in a matter of minutes. PathSolutions has been a wonderful product for us and the support is great. It's very easy to get in contact with someone at path solutions when you require assistance. Right off the top, the ease of configuration and understanding the information available was the most import aspect for me with TotalView. The software aggregates information on multiple devices in a way that makes narrowing down a network issue much more effective. In addition, syslog and Netflow views are available right from the device pages speeding up information that is critical to a strong network foundation. Quick and good information. Works well when you need to get some good information on devices. Decent product. This is one of the easiest-to-install network monitoring and management systems ever. Anyone can get this up and running in under 15 minutes and, depending on your network, can be fully productive in under a day. We currently have 5 techs monitoring and managing 160 network switches in 50 buildings across 2 campuses and this is their #1 tool for monitoring, troubleshooting, and fixing issues. The user interface is clean, simple and fast which makes it extremely easy to find and resolve issues. One of the best features is the network prescription that will not only identify issues but provide you with an easy-to-understand explanation of the issue and how to resolve it. I have been using PathSolutions for 15+ years. It has been a great product. I would recommend it to any IT Admin. Price...Installation, initial configuration and training with Cris and Amy lasted until all my questions were answered. We run a call center with 80% remote users. Troubleshooting VOIP with WireShark or SNGREP is cool and all, but tech has other issues to solve. TotalView is running on my monitor, alerts are configured and I get better sleep. Ease of use, completeness of features, ability to determine issues quickly, monitoring interfaces and links, MOS Tools, Interface histories, IP management, GREMLIN history!!! Feature rich. Great support. Great documentation. Simple implementation. Extremely customizable network monitoring.
