Video editors, independent filmmakers, and content creators seeking a desktop non-linear editing workflow, including users interested in script or AI-agent automation.
About FilmCraft
FilmCraft is an open-source, non-linear video editor for assembling and finishing projects on macOS, Windows, and Linux. It provides source and program monitors, media bins, a multitrack timeline, trimming tools, markers, and undo history. Editors can apply color correction and LUTs, animate effects with keyframes, add transitions, mix audio, create titles, and edit captions. The application imports video, audio, and image media and exports sequences with built-in presets and codecs. A command-line interface, local JSON control channel, and MCP server let scripts and compatible AI agents inspect projects and automate editing actions. FilmCraft is also available as a browser-based WebAssembly build for users to host themselves. The software is in alpha, and its support for real-world media and production workflows continues to develop.
