About SoundCraft
SoundCraft is an open-source digital audio workstation for recording, editing, arranging and mixing audio. Its Edit window supports multitrack arrangement, playlists, comping, fades and tempo maps; the Mix window provides channel strips, buses, sends, automation and plugins. Users can record audio and MIDI, edit MIDI in piano-roll and score views, import common audio formats, and bounce mixes or stems. CLAP, VST3 and Audio Unit plugins are supported, and a CLI, JSON control channel and MCP server expose commands for scripts and AI agents. Native releases are available for macOS, Windows and Linux; FreeBSD and a browser-based WebAssembly build are also documented. It is aimed at audio engineers, musicians, producers and developers working on music, recording, mixing, soundtracks or other multitrack audio. SoundCraft is currently labeled pre-alpha, with development ongoing.
