About

We are a team of engineers who love building tools for other engineers. Our goal is to create the email platform we've always wished we had — one that just works. Receive real-time notifications directly to your server. Every time an email is delivered, opened, bounces or a link is clicked. Simulate events and experiment with our API without the risk of accidentally sending real emails to real people. Simulate events and experiment with our API without the risk of accidentally sending real emails to real people. Rely on a platform of reputable IPs used by trustworthy senders with distributed workloads across different IP pools. Get a fully managed dedicated IP that automatically warms up and autoscales based on your sending volume, with no waiting period. About

SendBunny is an AWS-native, self-hosted email platform for startups, developers, SaaS teams, and businesses that want more control over their email infrastructure. It deploys into the customer’s own AWS account and uses Amazon SES for delivery. SendBunny combines transactional email APIs, marketing campaigns, unlimited contacts, templates, analytics, suppression management, multiple sending domains, a team inbox, and MCP support for AI workflows in one platform. Unlike other email providers that charge recurring fees based on contacts or usage tiers, SendBunny is available for a $199 one-time license. Customer data and application infrastructure remain inside the user’s AWS account. SendBunny is designed for teams looking for an alternative to Resend, SendGrid, Mailgun, Mailchimp, and similar email platforms without giving up ownership of their infrastructure or building the full email layer around Amazon SES themselves.

Audience

Developers looking for an Email API solution

Audience

Developers, SaaS companies, startups, agencies, founders, and businesses that send transactional or marketing email and want to reduce recurring ESP costs. Ideal for teams looking for an alternative to SendGrid, Resend, Mailgun, Mailchimp, Amazon SES or other email providers due to rising costs, per-contact pricing, vendor lock-in, data privacy requirements, or the need for greater infrastructure control. Best suited for AWS users who want unlimited contacts and to own their email infrastructure and customer data.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Having the ability to send transactional emails via API makes integrating Resend into an application significantly easier. We set up Resend to handle key transactional emails such as verifying accounts, sending forgot password emails and notifications about usage in our customer accounts. It was easy for our developers to integrate and the pricing scales nicely.

Cons

  • To be honest as long as you know that Resend is designed for transactional emails, and not marketing emails, there's no major negatives of the platform itself. I would have given it 5 stars, but the jump in pricing to have 7 day data retention is higher than I would have liked.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • One time fee, no vendor lock in and a full email platform with API & MCP. The experience from product to onboarding was smooth. Works great if you already have AWS production access or in the SES ecosystem already.

Cons

  • Must get AWS production access to use the product. Works great if you are already in SES.
