Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Orange Logic is the only Digital Asset Management Platform (DAM) worth using. They are the only few DAMs that offer: • Asset AI Meta Tagging for Video and Image • Best for enterprise companies, small & large, don't get charge by the user seat. • White Glove service, every business is unique and they were the only solution that offered what we needed and how we wanted it to be customized for our company. • Easy to use platform and it does the work itself, I spend 1 hour a week managing everything. • Custom Integrations with our Software and Online Tools. It is very intuitive to use - both front and back-end. It is easy to configure and adaptable. The support team is responsive. Cortex makes it easy to upload, share, and download media files. It integrates with the Adobe suite and allows for our creative team to work remotely off proxy files. It's a flexible platform, and our integration team has been a joy to work with. The ease of creating multiple metadata mappings and the ability to batch edit on every field are considerable upsides to Cortex. These features work with relative ease compared to other products I've used over the years. My favorite feature of Orange Logic \| Cortex is their ticketing system, Link, where I can raise a defect, ask a question or request an enhancement. I can assign priorities ranging from critical to normal or even long-term. At any time I can log onto Link to see their status. Answered tickets are archived, so I have a complete picture of our evolving digital asset management system. Cons The only thing I was unhappy with was the time it took them to create our DAM system, but after the time it took to get it up and going, I can proudly say it was worth the wait for the setup. The system itself is excellent, but I think we all know it's the most low-cost system, which does cause some friction internally. I'm getting really nit-picky here, but I'd love for Cortex to support additional S3 storage tiers to save money on our cloud storage bill. It's on their roadmap though You can tell that Cortex was built to accommodate a wide variety of use cases. While that may play well for Orange Logic in attracting customers, it can be an overbearing product for end users. It took me several months to wade through the sea of Cortex functionality and hone in on what worked for my needs. Once you get through that, the product does well, but it feels like Cortex tries to be too many things at once. Orange Logic \| Cortex is a very granular, robust product. I know that I'm missing out on some features, but as the only power user, I simply don't have time to delve into all of them.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Easy to use. The workflow generation and application is intuitive and allows for a variety of process integrations. I like its ability to centralize and efficiently organize documents. It offers advanced encryption, access control and change tracking options, which ensures the confidentiality and integrity of information. In addition, its ability to automate workflows, perform advanced searches and generate detailed reports helps us optimize document management and improve operational efficiency in our company. For the most part, it is easy and intuitive to use. The online training is a huge bonus and has helped me figure out how to do many things. Square 9 offers powerful document capture and workflow automation tools. It's highly customizable and integrates well with other business systems. We are really enjoying using Global search to rid ourselves of paper files. We also use Global Search to automate the AR process for our online payments system. The document capture workflows are very easy to set up with no programming at all in a drag and drop web browser interface. The software is constantly being updated to add new features, including AI for smart document capture Cons Hosted environment is too pricey, but the on prem is perfect for us. One of the limitations I find is the lack of advanced customization options in the user interface. I would like more flexibility to tailor the look and feel and functionality of the platform to specific needs. Some of the nodes are a little complicated and the online training is not available. The user interface could be more modern and intuitive. Initial setup can be a bit complex for smaller teams. Although I do believe we get special pricing based on our organization which is non-profit, we can only afford a single CPU license for our on-prem setup for document processing which makes things a little slow. So depending on what volumes you need to process, you can get a backlog of documents in the capture cue waiting to be processed. In an ideal situation where funds are unlimited, we would likely utilize their cloud solution with additional CPU cores and also the AI add-on for more efficient document capture.
