Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Orange Logic is the only Digital Asset Management Platform (DAM) worth using. They are the only few DAMs that offer: • Asset AI Meta Tagging for Video and Image • Best for enterprise companies, small & large, don't get charge by the user seat. • White Glove service, every business is unique and they were the only solution that offered what we needed and how we wanted it to be customized for our company. • Easy to use platform and it does the work itself, I spend 1 hour a week managing everything. • Custom Integrations with our Software and Online Tools. It is very intuitive to use - both front and back-end. It is easy to configure and adaptable. The support team is responsive. Cortex makes it easy to upload, share, and download media files. It integrates with the Adobe suite and allows for our creative team to work remotely off proxy files. It's a flexible platform, and our integration team has been a joy to work with. The ease of creating multiple metadata mappings and the ability to batch edit on every field are considerable upsides to Cortex. These features work with relative ease compared to other products I've used over the years. My favorite feature of Orange Logic \| Cortex is their ticketing system, Link, where I can raise a defect, ask a question or request an enhancement. I can assign priorities ranging from critical to normal or even long-term. At any time I can log onto Link to see their status. Answered tickets are archived, so I have a complete picture of our evolving digital asset management system. Cons The only thing I was unhappy with was the time it took them to create our DAM system, but after the time it took to get it up and going, I can proudly say it was worth the wait for the setup. The system itself is excellent, but I think we all know it's the most low-cost system, which does cause some friction internally. I'm getting really nit-picky here, but I'd love for Cortex to support additional S3 storage tiers to save money on our cloud storage bill. It's on their roadmap though You can tell that Cortex was built to accommodate a wide variety of use cases. While that may play well for Orange Logic in attracting customers, it can be an overbearing product for end users. It took me several months to wade through the sea of Cortex functionality and hone in on what worked for my needs. Once you get through that, the product does well, but it feels like Cortex tries to be too many things at once. Orange Logic \| Cortex is a very granular, robust product. I know that I'm missing out on some features, but as the only power user, I simply don't have time to delve into all of them.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros We moved to Playbook from Air.inc after dealing with frequent partial outages, rising costs, and a platform that felt increasingly resistant to feature requests and improvements. The difference in value has been substantial. Playbook offers an incredible balance of functionality, stability, and affordability, especially for companies managing large amounts of creative and marketing assets like we do at Outdoor Living Today. One of the biggest strengths of Playbook has been the responsiveness of the team. Since we joined, the platform has continued to evolve with meaningful updates and new features. While there were a few things Air previously offered that Playbook initially lacked, the Playbook team has been highly receptive to feedback, quick to answer questions, and willing to implement feature requests. Another major positive for us has been team collaboration. The platform is fluid, easy to work within, and for the most part it simply works — which is exactly what you want from a DAM platform. Our team uses it every single day internally, and we also rely on it heavily with external partners. Aside from some UI challenges, the overall collaboration experience has been smooth and dependable for a small-to-medium-sized team like ours. For us, the priorities are stability, value, and responsiveness to customer concerns — and Playbook has delivered on all three. Cons The biggest area for improvement is the UI/UX. At times the interface can feel a bit cluttered, and some workflows could be simplified further. Certain actions, like stacking items or downloading assets, can occasionally become messy or unintuitive — for example, downloads sometimes pull every version of an asset rather than the specific one intended. To their credit, the UI has already improved noticeably since we started using the platform, and it’s clear the team is actively refining it. We have also encountered the occasional bug, but in our experience these issues were addressed quickly and resulted more in minor delays than any meaningful operational impact.
