Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I can create the same stuff any other AI platform can.
  • Absolutely nothing. The entire platform needs a huge amount of work before commercialisation. The best part of the suite is the fact that you can cancel at any time which I most certainly will be doing. The program is absolutely useless creating videos which are comically stupid.
  • As an AI Pro Subscriber, I truly appreciate the power of tools like FLOW and Gemini. Thank you for continuing to improve the service!

Cons

  • It will charge you FOR EVERYTHING! No matter how wrong it is, how far off from the instructions or prompts you provide, no matter how many errors it has, it will NOT REFUND credits. Not even to fix the mistakes it made, in fact it charges you more to fix or re-edit videos lol 🤦And the best part is there is zero customer service unless you pay platinum pricing, which all they say is sorry, we can't help you.
  • The videos produced do NOT follow your instructions AT ALL, even when prompts are generated and fine-tuned by Gemini itself! No matter how good your prompts are, "Flow" will find a way to completely ruin your video. I have not been able to generate a SINGLE video of any value that reflects accurately the vision I had in mind to begin with despite having prompts generated that were essentially perfect!. Don't ever ever waste a dime on Flow. This thing needs another 5 years of learning before it will be of ANY value to anyone. Rubbish!!!
  • I often find the system a bit confusing—especially when trying to understand what services I'm entitled to. The overlap between tools like FLOW and Gemini makes it unclear which features are included in my plan. When I try to create AI-generated videos, I would really benefit from more direct and transparent information. Specifically, I need clear answers to the following before submitting my prompt or image/video request: (i) How many video clips or credits are required for this request? (ii) What is my current credit balance—both for today and for the rest of the month? (iii) Can I add extra credits to complete a specific video (e.g., one requiring 4 credits)? Ideally, I’d love to transfer or borrow credits from my monthly allocation to complete larger projects. This flexibility would greatly enhance user experience and satisfaction. (iv) What will my remaining credit balance be after the video is generated? A simple dashboard or pop-up showing this info in real-time would make the platform much more user-friendly. This would not only reduce confusion but also help subscribers like me better plan and manage creative tasks.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • A client asked for their training video in 8 languages. Dubbing would have cost a fortune, so we tested Magic Hour. The results were indistinguishable from studio work. We kept the project in-house, and pitched multilingual services to other clients.
  • We added Magic Hour’s clothes changer to our product pages so shoppers could see the shirt on their own face. Setup took about a day, and it worked on mobile right away. Customers started telling us “this actually looks like me,” and we saw a clear lift in time-on-page and add-to-cart. It’s fast, stable during traffic spikes from ads, and the team answers questions quickly. It’s not perfect with tricky lighting or hats, but for everyday use it’s been a legit win for us and a real part of how we sell now.
  • The web app is fast and requires no installs. Face Swap, Lip Sync, and Image-to-Video covering most of my needs (video editing). Outputs are typically social ready with minimal tweaks. Templates and simple sliders shorten the learning curve. The API and credits model integrate cleanly into existing workflows. Pricing feels fair relative to the time saved.
  • Magic Hour is seriously impressive! The best thing about it is how easy and user-friendly it is. I'm no expert in video editing, but with Magic Hour, I felt like a pro in no time. It's crazy fast too! I've tried other editing tools, and they were so sluggish, but Magic Hour gets the job done in a snap. Plus, the quality of the style transfers is mind-blowing. I took some basic videos and turned them into something totally eye-catching and unique. I've been using it for my client work, and let me tell you, they are loving the results! It's like I've got this secret weapon that elevates my work to a whole new level. I couldn't be happier with Magic Hour - it's a total win!

Cons

  • Top ups aren't as good value as subscriptions. Takes some practice to get good with software.
  • Occasional hiccups with hats, glasses, or strong backlighting, and we’d like finer controls for fit and lighting. Not a deal-breaker, but worth noting.
  • Quality can vary by clip, so a second pass is sometimes needed to nail lips and edges. The free tier has upload and duration limits plus a watermark. Heavy uploads may queue during peak times. Some advanced controls are harder to find at first. Mobile works, but longer edits are smoother on desktop.
  • If I had to nitpick, one minor downside of Magic Hour is that it might leave you obsessively addicted to experimenting with different style transfers. But hey, it's all part of the fun!
