About
FireFlow Studio for FDS is a fully integrated Windows GUI for NIST's Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), built by a practising fire safety engineer for fire engineering consultancies. It covers the complete workflow in one application: 3-D geometry modelling with DXF floor-plan tracing and automatic voxelisation of arcs and circles, multi-mesh setup with visible cells and MPI splitting, a guided fire-design wizard with a D* flame-resolution calculator, one-click runs of the bundled unmodified FDS solver with live monitoring of HRR and device outputs, and an integrated 3-D results viewer with slices, boundary quantities, smoke rendering, scenario-comparison tabs and CSV/PNG export. A built-in finite-element heat-transfer solver is live-coupled to the running FDS simulation, so structural steel temperatures develop alongside the fire with no external FEA package. Hand-written FDS decks round-trip.
