About

FBackup is freeware backup program for Windows. FBackup protects your important files and folders from partial or total loss by automating backup tasks, password protecting and compressing it to save storage space. It creates either standard zip files (when using "full backup"), or exact copies of the original sources without any compression (using "mirror backup"). Using FBackup you can easily backup to any local/network drive, to external drives (such as USB drives) or even cloud destinations such as Google Drive and Dropbox. You can also use sources from cloud locations (Dropbox or Google Drive). The best thing about this freeware backup software is that it protects your data for free. When using "full backup", the sources will be archived using standard zip compression. FBackup uses ZIP64 compression, which means that it can create zip files over 2GB in size. Also, you can password-protect your backup zip files.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I have nothing positive to say after i have found out how unprofessional (maybe criminal) they are. Their service is a problem to solve, not a solution to a problem.
  • No Registration Required (for basic use): You can upload and share files quickly without creating an account — super convenient for fast sharing. Supports Public and Private Sharing: You can easily choose who can access your files. Great for both public distribution and secure storage. Monetization Options: Creators can sell their files (e.g., photos, music, documents) directly from the platform. Multiple Upload Methods: Supports drag-and-drop, folder uploads, and even torrents in some cases. European-Based (GDPR compliant): Ideal for users who prioritize data privacy within the EU. Multilingual Support: Available in multiple languages, including English, Latvian, and more. Preview Features: Images, videos, and documents can be previewed directly in the browser.
  • N/A.
  • Upload speed, web features, platform is easy to use. Good looking photo and video galleries. Apps for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS.
  • I use this Files.fm products more that 5 years, for photo and video file backup, store and share for clients. Now they support RAW formats, content selling. Nice phone app to work with.

Cons

  • They have not paid me my money that i earned through the content sales service. By their own rules they should pay you before 30 days but 37 days have passed and they are not answering. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. IF YOU HAVE MONEY IN AN ACCOUNT THAT YOU EARNED THROUGH CONTENT SALES GET IT OUT AS SOON AS YOU CAN.
  • Basic Free Plan Limits: Free users may experience limited storage, bandwidth, or file retention time. Interface Could Be More Polished: The design and navigation can feel a bit outdated or clunky, especially compared to services like Google Drive or Dropbox. Not as Mainstream: Fewer integrations and automations compared to bigger players like Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive.
  • After six years as a loyal PRO subscriber to Files.fm, paying €10 monthly for 2TB of storage and promised high-speed access, I find myself compelled to express my profound dissatisfaction with their recent service. This month, my download speed inexplicably plummeted to a mere 1Mb/sec. I promptly reached out to customer support, anticipating a swift resolution. Instead, over two weeks, I received only generic troubleshooting steps—clearing cache, switching Wi-Fi networks, and checking VPN settings (which I don’t use). These suggestions failed to address the core issue, leaving me without access to essential files and halting my work projects. Repeated inquiries about the root cause went unanswered. The lack of transparency and effective support is unacceptable. Notably, colleagues in Latvia reported no such issues, suggesting a possible neglect of international users like myself in Spain. To verify the problem wasn’t on my end, I tested other file-sharing services, including WeTransfer, which functioned flawlessly. This points to a specific issue with Files.fm. Upon requesting a refund for this month’s subscription, I received it. However, I was informed that all my files would be deleted within a month, effectively terminating my account without further discussion. This abrupt action, after years of patronage, is both shocking and disheartening.
  • Sometimes app autobackup freezes, minor web bugs, lot of features.
  • It takes time to learn how to work with web. Need design refresh.
