About
Drift is a free, open source, privacy-first screen recording studio that runs entirely in your browser or as a native Windows app and delivers cinema-grade video capture with automatic and manual zoom effects to highlight cursor movement and key content in recordings. It lets you start recording directly in the browser without downloads or admin rights, select your screen, add smooth auto-zoom or manual zoom effects, and export polished videos, currently in WebM format with MP4 and GIF planned, all without subscriptions or telemetry, keeping all processing local and secure. Drift’s simple three-step workflow (download, extract, and run the .exe) makes it accessible on Windows, while the browser version offers instant recording. It is designed to eliminate complex installations and subscription costs typical of other screen capture tools, provide engaging cinematic focus during recordings, and support creators in producing tutorials, demos, presentations, etc.

About
Skreno is a browser-based screen recorder and video editor for people who need to explain workflows, document software issues, or share feedback. It captures browser tabs, windows, screens, screenshots, webcams and supported online meetings, then creates shareable recordings with transcripts and timestamped comments. For debugging, Skreno can capture console output and network activity alongside a recording; a website SDK adds a bug-report button, while request and testimonial links let external users submit videos. Skreno Studio edits recordings in the browser with trimming, captions, backgrounds, layouts and blur tools, and exports video up to 4K. Other features include step-by-step guides, AI summaries and bug reports, a meeting notetaker, Trello integration, and an MCP server that allows compatible AI assistants to search recordings. Paid plans expand recording, storage, quality and AI limits. A free plan is available.
