Pros from Real Users Pros It worked for local calls. It was east to sign up, and the website was okay. The hardware was good and was small. I notice that Community Phone service has many great reviews online, however, where I am concerned, the jury is still out. First of all, I ported my old phone number into the Community Phone service, however I have noticed that I still have two phone numbers, one is the temporary number initially assigned, while the second is my old ported number, which I really wanted. Now, the temporary phone number is still active, along with my ported number. During the day, I get many calls and when answered I get a dial tone and not a person on the other line! I am not sure they are calling the temporary number or if it is a spam call that Community is blocking! During a normal day, I may get five or six of these types of calls per day. Also, when I first signed up with Community, I set up voice mail with the temporary number. It appears that cannot be changed. I still have to go into voice mail using the temporary number, which discourages me from using voice mail. Sure, the price is a plus, but I am not sure the drawbacks are put out there for consideration. I did get Panasonic Phones and sometimes I wonder if their specific directions interfere with the Community directions? Excellent customer service with prompt delivery. It was a simple and efficient setup. I was able to start ringing family and friends right away. The whole process was super simple and the landline base was easy to install. When I needed help the customer service rep was awesome! Community Phone provides a very affordable, super easy to use, and all with minimal skill use landline service. Reliable, inexpensive, and great call quality. By far, the biggest positive with CP is customer service. If I attempt to contact CP with a problem, CP responds with a native speaker of English within 24 hours, generally far less. Since I needed just a landline it is exactly what I expected and the price was perfect. I got to keep my # of 35 years so very happy.		Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros You get a free US phone number, reliable that you can call through an app, receive calls and sms, and also receive sms on email. Perfect. This is the only software I’ve found that allows me the ability to have a free phone number for my small business. Great for giving out as a contact number without having to give out your personal number. We use this for our pastor on-call. It also allows multiple people to have the app and keep up with voicemails. Easy to use. Allows me to have a secondary phone number tied to my account (my phone number?) Can have outgoing/incoming calls/messages with good quality. I love that Google voice, allows you to get a free phone number in your area code of choice, and when somebody calls in, it requires them to say their name. That way, you can hear who it is before answering it and know if it’s worth picking up of sending to voicemail. Cons You can only select US phone numbers. No worldwide phones available. Features are somewhat limited, but this is to be expected from a free software. There really aren't many negatives. It does what you expect it to do. Sometimes calls won't connect. Costs $10 to change your phone number. Have a hard time receiving calls. I don’t love that the voicemail portion says “google voice”, but it makes sense from google’s perspective.
