Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros It's simple to customize Asana dashboard according to my needs. Again, it's simple to plan, manage and execute projects effectively with Asana. It's simple to collaborate with my team on project assignments with Asana. It's also simple to track project progress with Asana. It's extremely easy to get onboarded to the tool and actually learn to utilize all of its features, workflow automation and triggers are a must-use feature if you are on the paid plan. * Workflow Builder has allowed other tools to be automated together without the need to use external platforms for integration such as Appy Pie or Zapier, which despite the fact that these platforms that I have just mentioned are very useful within almost any company to automate all the work is also important that each platform can have internal automations as Asana is currently starting to do. With Workflow Builder I can create processes that do pretty much a lot of my work managing a project and it's all done automatically, so I very rarely integrate integration platforms when using Asana as everything can be found right there within their platform. * Another tool that has been quite useful to me throughout the use of Asana is Workload since it has allowed me to manage staff or work teams from different projects more easily, I say this because this feature allows me to see the days when people they have workloads and what capacity they have available to assign tasks. A clear example of how Workload has benefited me is that when managing the assignment of a task I can see the availability or workload that each person has and thus not assign more tasks that could lower the performance of a person having tasks that he will not be able to complete due to excessive work, so before assigning a task I go to the Workload panel and thus verify the availability and workload of each one of my work team. * Thanks to the hundreds of integrations I can make my job much easier since I don't need to pass data from other platforms to this one to have everything connected (and vice versa) since everything stays interconnected. This has resulted in me counting on being able to have Asana Calendar connected to Google Calendar, so I have more control over my to-dos and other to-do lists. Also, with Adobe Creative Cloud I can facilitate my marketing by being able to have the projects and tasks both in asana and in Adobe Creative Cloud since the information is shared reciprocally. With Asana it has been possible to integrate very well the calendars of the different emails that I currently have, this was very useful for me since I did not have to manually synchronize all the notes and important events since they are currently a very heavy load to carry out that work. So the full integration with the Outlook and Gmail calendar was the best thing that happened to me to be able to integrate all the events within the projects and thus have easier reminders Without having to start from scratch to make notifications of each upcoming event and assigned tasks within a project. The board is very personalized, this gives me a lot of freedom to be able to have what I want to see once I log in to this platform. The main screen is the most important thing to be able to highlight what is most relevant while managing a project, so I can add different sections or tasks, lists, some calendars or everything that interests me to know when I'm managing not one but several projects. It was useful to be able to have the option to approve since being able to verify if the work is done is important For the combination of a project to be very effective since within my company we avoid having setbacks and that certain pre-established norms are skipped. So with Asana you can have approval once the assigned jobs or tasks are verified that they have been completed correctly with all the steps to follow so that the completion of a project is very effective since within my company we avoid having setbacks and that break certain pre-established rules. It is natively available for desktops on both Windows, Mac this was very useful for me as I can sync all tasks and projects on all devices and not just web version and desktop version. It gave me the ease of being able to focus on projects without using the browser since in the past that was the only way to be able to use Asana at that time. The mobile application, in turn, is very complete, just like the writer versions, regardless of whether it is for the web or native to each desktop operating system, so I don't miss out on certain functions that this platform may have, but everything is already there. integrated into any mobile device regardless of the operating system you are using is Android or iOS. Cons I'm yet to encounter any negative issues with Asana since it meets my project management needs. I haven't experienced any drawbacks with Asana as it works perfectly. Price can be a it hefty when you reach the enterprise level, other than that, the tool is epic. * It is possible to see the list of tasks in a very ordered way, but for me sometimes it is not very useful since I would like to be able to order the tasks by priority and not by completion date. This would give me a better advantage when it comes to organizing my tasks and focusing more on those that require a lot of attention to detail, as well as the effort that must be applied to other tasks regardless of the differences in delivery time. This function of ordering by priority added to the Workload function will allow to better manage the performance and availability of each employee in the event that new tasks are to be assigned, thus being able to have the work team more organized in each project that is being managed. * It can take a long time to get used to Asana even if you use the free version, you have to get used to it very well in order to streamline projects and easily manage assigned tasks. By this I do not mean that you have to get a specialty in project management, but rather because of the number of functions that Asana has, and it can be overwhelming to learn how to use all its tools without any problem. So, if someone is thinking of adding Asana to their company, they must consider that they must have prior knowledge of this platform before they can get a good return on investment, because if they don't, they will be affected in the projects they manage when implementing Asana and they are just beginning to know how it works, making this a waste of time and money. * There is a confusion with the assigned subtasks, since it is shown as a normal task which is not the case since when a member of my team reviews their tasks, they will think that they have work overloaded and in reality, it is not. Therefore, my recommendation is to show the tasks, but if they are more specific tasks of those tasks which several people are involved, they should be seen as a respective subtask and not as tasks only since it overloads the task list with repetitive events. and also confuses when knowing what tasks have been assigned to me. I'd like a way to be able to use notes even when I'm not connected to the internet, that would be very useful for annotating or saving comments that I can use later without having to connect to the internet to use Asana. It would be most helpful if I use Asana via the mobile app to annotate, as if I use an external app I would have to manually sync everything and waste time in the process. So I hope that in a future update they can include using Asana or at least taking notes without necessarily having to be connected to the Internet. It would not be bad if Asana could integrate or adapt to small projects for small businesses, this would be very useful since this platform has a small learning curve which is difficult to adapt to being able to handle many complex functions that the interface brings. There are many options which the user must learn before being able to manage a project correctly, so this platform should adapt to different types of projects as well as being a workspace which would be easy for the end user to change, just You should click on a tool that allows you to select whether it is a small project or a large text that has several particular positives and many tools are required to carry out a complete project management. The integration of a button is missing that could undo an error made within this platform, for example, delete tasks by mistake or delete a person within a project. So any change that is made within this platform could have steps back indefinitely, as if it were a photo or text editing program. This would be very helpful since in case of making mistakes you can always recover the information without any problem and also you would not have to start from scratch when you accidentally delete an entire project. Some kind of backup would also be nice, which allows you to restore by versions all the movements made within Asana. It helps the team stay organized and improves collaboration without requiring much training. I loved how easy it was to implement this platform. It was easy to start developing projects with it and it wasn't difficult to assign tasks from the first moment of use, so I can assure you that it has an intuitive interface. Its panel is very customizable, so you can organize the view of the projects without any limitations, allowing you to manage different projects with different tasks at the same time in the same main panel without losing the sense of follow-up. All the follow-up happens in real time, so it is not necessary to wait for updates or have someone on staff to report the status of the projects, so you could say that this work is automated by having all this management in the same platform. It has several native integrations for the exchange, import and export of data, and the API is very easy to work with in case there is no direct integration with this platform. For the past 6 years u have been using Trello and it has really been of great help since it helps us to manage projects and work together as a team. With it, i find it extremely easy to get my team up and running. Additionally, Trello has a very nice, responsive and reliable customer support. Creating task cards is very simple and straightforward with Trello. Also, adding teammates and monitoring their tasks is also simple which I like very much I use Trello all the time and I love the tool because it is incredibly easy to keep my projects organized. The layout is super visual, with boards and cards that helps me see exactly what needs to be done and what is a priority. One of my favorite thing is how Trello integrates with other products such as Dropbox, making sharing of files with my team super convenient. The platform is also great for freelancers or anyone working on smaller projects because it is very flexible and straightforward. Cons Some advanced features are only available in paid plans. Large and complex projects can also become harder to manage with many boards and cards. Most of the features cannot be used offline, which is a bit annoying because I don't always need to be connected to the internet to be able to update the status of my completed tasks, so it wouldn't be bad to have most of the features available when there is no internet connection. The notifications section is a bit overwhelming, I would like to have the ability to choose what I want to be notified about and what I don't, since it can be annoying to receive notifications that aren't necessary and even more so when they arrive in large batches. In any case, these are two small cons that I see in this platform, it has been very useful to me and I only hope that it can improve over time since it is my default project and task manager. I don't have any major problem with Trello so nothing to dislike about it. I do not have any major dislike with Trello so far. Everything is to my liking. One issue that I have encountered with Trello is that it lacks delete button, which can make things a little confusing when you want to remove something. Also, if you are dealing with larger and more complicated projects, Trello does not have as many customization options as you might need.
