About

AndrOpen Office is the world's first porting of OpenOffice for Android and it's powerful and complete office suite for OpenDocument format. You can view, edit, insert and export office documents using full features of the OpenOffice. AndrOpen Office is office suite of 5 components: Writer (a word processor), Calc (spreadsheet / worksheet), Impress (presentation graphics), Draw (drawing), Math (equation editor). About

WordCraft is a free, open-source word processor for people who write and format documents. Its ribbon interface provides editing and page-design tools for styles, tables, images, citations, footnotes, tables of contents, comments, and tracked changes, along with spelling and grammar checks and mail merge. It reads and writes DOCX, opens older DOC files, works with ODT, RTF, HTML, Markdown, LaTeX, and plain text, and exports PDF and page images. WordCraft runs as a native application on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and also has a WebAssembly edition that can be hosted on a static server. Its command-line tools, JSON control channel, and Model Context Protocol server support scripted and AI-agent document workflows. The software is in alpha, so file compatibility and feature coverage continue to develop.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Mobility, on the go use, for the occasions where you need to have a document made but don't have access to a computer.
  • I love that this has a comprehensive document editing suite for a nifty little price. Android needs better options than the storage-heavy MS Office apps. This has them all essentially for one price, with no need for ads or heavy reliance on MS's cloud storage options.

Cons

  • Keep in mind that if you are planning to write up a letter, you are using your screen keyboard on your phone or your tablet. Will generally take longer to type or edit your document on a smaller screen than your computer.
  • This is built to run the full desktop app right on android, so the user interface is a little clunky. Nothing crazy though - still worth it in the end.
