About

The Agent Development Kit (ADK) is a flexible, open-source framework for building and deploying AI agents. It is tightly integrated with Google’s ecosystem, including Gemini models, and supports popular large language models (LLMs). ADK simplifies the development of both simple and complex AI agents, providing a structured environment for building dynamic workflows and multi-agent systems. With built-in tools for orchestration, deployment, and evaluation, ADK helps developers create scalable, modular AI solutions that can be easily deployed on platforms like Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform or Cloud Run.

About

Flowise is an open-source platform that enables developers and teams to build AI agents and LLM-powered applications through a visual interface. The platform provides modular building blocks that allow users to create everything from simple chatbot workflows to complex multi-agent systems. With its drag-and-drop design environment, developers can rapidly prototype and deploy AI-powered applications without extensive coding. Flowise supports integrations with more than 100 large language models, embeddings, and vector databases. It also includes features such as human-in-the-loop workflows, observability tools, and execution tracing for monitoring agent behavior. Developers can extend applications through APIs, SDKs, and embedded chat interfaces using TypeScript or Python. By combining visual development tools with scalable infrastructure, Flowise simplifies the process of building and deploying production-ready AI agents.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • ADK feels like a serious framework for people who want to build real agents, not just quick demos. It gives developers a structured way to define agents, connect tools, coordinate multi-agent workflows, and move from local testing toward production. I like that it is open source and supports multiple languages. Python is great for AI work, but TypeScript, Go, Java, and Kotlin support make ADK more realistic for teams building inside existing engineering stacks. The production focus is the biggest advantage. ADK is built around debugging, evaluation, deployment, and reliability, which are exactly the things teams need once an agent goes beyond a prototype.

Cons

  • ADK may be more framework than you need for a simple chatbot or one-off automation. If the use case is small, a lighter tool may be faster to set up.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Flowise is great because it makes AI workflow building feel much more tangible. Instead of writing every integration from scratch, you can visually connect models, tools, retrieval, memory, and agent steps on a canvas. I like that it is open source and still developer-friendly. You can move fast with the visual builder, but you are not completely trapped in a black box because Flowise also offers API, CLI, SDK, and deployment options. The agent and chatbot use cases are especially strong. Flowise works well for building RAG apps, internal AI assistants, support bots, multi-step workflows, and prototypes that need to become real products.

Cons

  • Flowise still needs careful setup if you are putting it into production. Visual builders make things easier, but they do not remove the need for testing, monitoring, permissions, version control, and security.
