About

AWS Outposts is a fully managed service that offers the same AWS infrastructure, AWS services, APIs, and tools to virtually any datacenter, co-location space, or on-premises facility for a truly consistent hybrid experience. AWS Outposts is ideal for workloads that require low latency access to on-premises systems, local data processing, data residency, and migration of applications with local system interdependencies. AWS compute, storage, database, and other services run locally on Outposts, and you can access the full range of AWS services available in the Region to build, manage, and scale your on-premises applications using familiar AWS services and tools. Coming soon, a VMware variant of AWS Outposts will be available. VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts delivers a fully managed VMware Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) running on AWS Outposts infrastructure on premises.

About

BDRShield is a cloud-managed hybrid backup and cyber-resilience platform designed to help businesses, MSPs, and IT teams protect critical data from ransomware, system failures, and cyber threats. Formerly known as BDRSuite, the platform provides centralized backup management through both cloud-hosted and on-premise console options for flexible deployment. BDRShield supports a wide range of workloads including endpoints, virtual machines, SaaS applications, databases, cloud instances, and physical servers across Windows, Linux, Mac, Microsoft 365, VMware, AWS, and more. The platform includes ransomware-resistant features such as immutable backups, air-gapped storage, anomaly detection, encryption, malware scanning, and automated backup verification. Businesses can store backups locally, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments while managing all operations from a unified console with real-time monitoring and reporting.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • AWS Outposts offer a seamless hybrid cloud solution by extending Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure to on-premises locations. AWS services may be operated locally by organizations, enabling unified and consistent operations between on-premises and cloud environments.

Cons

  • Before arranging installations, companies should confirm the geographical availability of AWS Outposts, since it may be restricted in some areas. The usefulness of AWS Outposts for international enterprises may be impacted by availability.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • In my work we currently implement Vembu for our customers, and Vembu has greatly improved the level of security for our consumers in general. It is fast, easy to use and has attributes that most exceptional backup solutions also have no major difficulties in using. We and our customers are very happy with Vembu.

Cons

  • After a vembu web server is synchronized with an online account and, for one reason or another, the administrator's requirements to synchronize the server with an additional online account, the administrator has only a few options. It uninstalls and reinstalls the product to change the web server id and synchronizes with an online account or has a technology support to manually transform it into the data source for them. The other option is not saved, so most of the time, administrators will certainly just uninstall and reinstall, which is often turbulent. The recovery of the vembu web server is complex and would also require an administrator in deep knowledge of how to recover the server.
