Screen2ipcam turns a Windows PC screen into an ONVIF / RTSP IP camera. Your NVR, DVR or VMS discovers it like any network camera and records it next to your real cameras: POS terminals, kiosks, control rooms, monitoring stations. No capture card, no HDMI encoder, no cloud. Version 2.0.5 adds motion events over ONVIF so the recorder can record only when the screen changes and save disk space, an optional mouse pointer in the stream, sound (G.711), camera name and clock on the picture, easier activation, and built-in VPN / multiple-network support. 2.0.5 for Windows Server is a separate edition for servers, POS terminals and shared PCs: it keeps streaming on the logon screen after a reboot or log off, uses fixed ports (RTSP 554, ONVIF 18000, web panel 13030), follows Remote Desktop sessions and installs silently with a settings file. Screen2ipcam genuinely saved me a huge amount of hassle. Wanted the office PC recording into the same NVR as our cameras. Normally that means buying an HDMI encoder. This just installs on the PC and shows up as another camera. Took me about ten minutes. My NVR found it automatically, stream came up fine, no messing about. Small download, doesn’t slow the machine down. Does what it says. After reading about Screen2ipcam on Reddit, I decided to create an account just to leave a review. The first thing that surprised me was how small the application is—less than 5 MB. I honestly wasn't expecting much because of its size, but after trying it, I was impressed. Installation took only a few minutes, and it was very easy to configure. It worked perfectly with my small pharmacy setup and integrated with my existing surveillance system without any complicated configuration. What I like most is that it simply does what it promises. Instead of using multiple programs, scripts, or capture devices, everything is handled by one lightweight application. If you're looking for an easy way to monitor and record a Windows desktop through your NVR, I definitely recommend giving it a try.
