RotorCrypt X

RotorCrypt X is a free offline encryption tool for Windows 10/11 that protects your private messages with six security layers — unreadable even if all files are stolen.

Works with any messenger: encrypt your text, then send it via WhatsApp, Signal, email, or any app you use — the other side decrypts it there.

Six layers: rotor cipher with up to 50 rotors and 241-digit key combinations. Military-grade AES-256 encryption. Modern key derivation with Perfect Forward Secrecy. Strong password protection making brute-force attacks practically impossible, even with powerful hardware. Split-key system where neither side alone can compute the shared key. Extra forward secrecy: contact ID deleted after handshake.

No cloud. No server. No internet required. Resists future quantum computers. Tamper protection, automatic key destruction if compromised. Portable from USB stick, no installation needed. 100% compatible with RotorCrypt X-Files (Desktop, v1.2.2.3) and RotorCrypt X Mobile (Android, v1.8.2) — messages can be exchanged freely between contacts, no matter which of the three programs, version, or platform they use.

Features

  • 50 rotors, AES-256-GCM, quantum-resistant, no cloud, USB portable, 10 languages, free
  • Rotor cipher, HKDF-SHA3-256, Perfect Forward Secrecy, replay protection, anti-debug, Windows 10/11
  • 2^768 key space, 65536 Unicode chars, offline, no server, no installation, no account required
  • Handshake protocol, key destruction, tamper protection, executable integrity check, shareware, freeware
  • Argon2id 256 MB password hardening, 1000+ years brute-force resistance, GPU/ASIC attack protection
  • Split Key, ECDH Curve25519, shared key requires both devices
  • Forward Secrecy², contact ID deleted after handshake, no static keys, past messages irrecoverable
  • DoD 5220.22-M secure contact deletion — all data irreversibly overwritten
  • Rotor count validation — automatic reset and error prevention on contact switch
  • Man-in-the-middle protection: verifies the identity of your contact during the first key exchange, so an attacker cannot secretly intercept or alter the connection
