  • I've just tried installing this - and the login/password issue is stopping me dead in my tracks! While I can con the system into a larger display and make it stay, it doesn't help with installing the system... and it certainly isn't helped by that wonderful Compiz! Please disable all the special effects as 'wobbly windows' and all the rest make it unusable at low resolutions. While we're on this subject, the default settings for Docky are fairly unusable as well..... try making the defaults to be 'no-zoom' and bring the icon size down to something usable like '32'.... All the settings together with the login issue make this virtually unusable, as it stands! When they're fixed, I might just make it my default distro..... More experimentation - no windows controls and unable to resize windows might be an issue.... It's not fair - I really would like this distro to be 'the one'.....
  • The tragedy of this version of Pearl is that you cannot get past the 'Password' requirement. The suggested password 'custom' is useless when in 'Live session' mode. (aka) playing with the system without actually installing it. The creator of this distro looks like he has done a lot of work on the thing. Its a damn pity that it should have failed at the last hurdle : simply because of the password problem. Please : get the issue fixed : so that we can all enjoy Pearl 2.
