"Good IDE for multiple DB's" Posted 2026-07-09
Pros: Very flexible. Came from a background a couple of years using Toad, but much prefer DB viz, and its a good price for such a comprehensive tool.
I use with mysql, mariadb, postgres, mongo, clickhouse.
Easy connection set up - good ssh tunnelling options etc.
Good autocompletion in editor. Nice set of data export tools etc.
Very stable, not had it crash on me even with dozens of sql editor tabs open.Cons: not much. couple of problems with (very) older db's.
Overall: great - i use every single day. just renewed again for 3rd year running. definitely recommended for anyone mainly working with databases day in day out.

"DbVisualizer is my SQL workhorse " Posted 2026-07-02
Pros: My favorite feature in DbVisualizer is Query Builder. Being able to drag and drop tables onto a canvas and visually join them together and the filter and choose the columns that I want to return from the query is a huge time savings for me
Cons: The only thing that I have found limiting is only being able to open 1 table property page at a time.
Overall: DbVisualizer is my go to tool for anything SQL related. I find myself using it on a weekly basis. It is hands down the best SQL workbench that I have ever used.

"One of the best tools to work with databases" Posted 2026-07-02
Pros: DBVisualizer is one of the most powerful and reliable database tools I have used. It supports a wide range of databases out of the box and provides a consistent, intuitive interface across all of them. The SQL editor is excellent, with strong auto-completion and performance even on large datasets. I especially appreciate the advanced features for query analysis, data visualization, and schema browsing. The tool is very stable, regularly updated, and works seamlessly across platforms. For professional use, it significantly improves productivity.
Cons: Some advanced features are only available in the Pro version, which can be limiting depending on your use case. The UI, while functional and consistent, could feel slightly outdated compared to more modern tools. Initial configuration for certain database drivers may require some manual setup.
Overall: DBVisualizer is an outstanding database client and easily among the best on the market. It combines stability, performance, and broad database support with a rich feature set that meets professional demands. Despite minor drawbacks, it is a top-tier tool that I can strongly recommend for developers, DBAs, and anyone working regularly with databases.

"Simple Database Management" Posted 2026-07-02
Pros: DbVisualizer simplifies most aspects of DDL & DML by providing a simple, intuitive and user-friendly interface that just makes sense. The ability to connect to most databases, reach out to support that actually listens and helps are just the cherry on the top.
Cons: The database connectors availability can be improved. But besides that there is not a lot that is wrong with this product.
Overall: I have been using DbVisualizer for over 10 years now and have seen the product grow over the years. If there is a one database viewer and DML tool I suggest to neo or none developers that's DbVisualizer.

Pros: I have used DBVisualizer for more than 10 years. It has become an indispensable part of my daily workflow. It covers almost all known RDMBS and as long as you have a JDBC driver, you can use it. I also like that they continue to improve the user experience by adding new features to it.
Cons: DBVisualizer already has very good SQL editing features such as auto-complete, error highlighting, etc. I would recommend that more AI features to be added.
Overall: Great Tool for serious DB work. It will help your work greatly. Once you learn it, you will be finding yourself opening DBVisualizer first thing in the morning.

"DbVisualizer review" Posted 2026-02-03
Pros: DbVisualizer is a very reliable tool for managing multiple databases, and it has greatly improved my confidence in working across different database systems. The workflow is consistent and well structured, which makes day to day database work feel organised and controlled. The schema integration is one of its strongest points, as it allows me to easily navigate tables, relationships, and database objects without losing context. The floating output panels are especially helpful, as they let me view query results alongside my SQL, improving focus and productivity. In addition, the way DbVisualizer handles stored procedures, combined with the ability to define my own SQL formatting style, has helped me keep my queries clean, readable, and professional.
Also, ability to use git directly improve my time management in my version control. needless to open Git to manage my version.Cons: Introducing AI assisted features similar to those available in DataGrip would be a welcome improvement, or perhaps, an MCP application for debugging.
Overall: DbVisualizer has become a dependable part of my daily database workflow. Beyond its core features, the workspace itself is well designed and easy to work in, making long SQL sessions comfortable and organised. The ability to colour code databases helps reduce mistakes when working across multiple environments, and the text and editor customisation options make it easy to adjust the interface to suit personal preferences. Overall, it feels like a thoughtful, well built tool that supports focus, clarity, and professional database work.

"DbVisualizer Review: A Reliable, All-In-One SQL Workbench for Serious Database Work" Posted 2025-11-29
Pros: Supports 30+ databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Cassandra, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)
Cross-platform: runs smoothly on Windows, macOS, and Linux
Excellent SQL editor with smart autocomplete, snippets, variables, and formatting
Visual query builder that helps when working with complex joins
Very customizable: layouts, key bindings, themes, favorites, workflows
Strong database visualization tools (schemas, objects, relations)
Secure and enterprise-friendly with strong configuration options
Free version available with enough features for most usersCons: Pro version can feel pricey for casual users
UI is powerful but slightly dense—new users may need some time to adjust
Large result sets can load slower compared to lighter-weight SQL tools
Not as cloud-native as some newer competitorsOverall: I’ve been using DbVisualizer for a while, and it’s honestly one of the most versatile database tools I’ve worked with. What stands out to me is how consistent the experience is across different databases and operating systems. Whether I'm querying MySQL, exploring a PostgreSQL schema, or troubleshooting in SQL Server, the interface and workflow stay the same—huge productivity boost.

The intelligent autocomplete, visual query builder, and the ability to deeply customize the UI make it feel like a tool that fits the way I work, not the other way around. It’s stable, fast, and feature-rich without being overwhelming. The Free version is already solid, but the Pro features definitely elevate it for heavier or professional use. -

"Swiss Army Knife for SQL" Posted 2025-06-09
Pros: DBVisualizer offers an incredibly unified environment that streamlines my workflow. With run, compile, and development tools all integrated into one application, it eliminates the need to juggle between multiple platforms. The rich ecosystem of extensions is another major plus, allowing me to extend functionality and support a wide range of tasks specific to my development needs. It’s a one-stop shop that’s both powerful and flexible.
Cons: The interface isn’t the most intuitive, especially for newer users or those unfamiliar with similar tools. It takes a little time and effort to get used to the layout and workflows. Additionally, deploying packages isn’t always straightforward and can require a bit of tinkering to get things just right.
Overall: Despite the minor learning curve, DBVisualizer has become my preferred SQL development environment. It’s more capable and versatile than tools like SQL Developer and TOAD, making it a top choice for serious developers who value having everything in one place. Once configured, it’s a reliable and efficient tool I use daily.

"Easy to use across multiple database platforms" Posted 2025-06-05
Pros: Easy to install and configure; use same interface across multiple database platforms. Quick and dirty use of SQL while still being able to do things like browse tables.
Cons: Rough upgrade process, but the most recent major release fixed this with a more automatic process.
Overall: We needed a tool to just be able to get data out of RDMS'. This fit the bill. It uses a JDBC common denominator to give the same experience no matter your environment - - I personally use it currently with 6 different RDMS'. (SQL Server, Sybase, Informix, PostGres, MySQL, Oracle)
